Eid Mubarak! Today, we take a look back on what longest-serving President Ferdinand Marcos did for our Moro countrymen.

On March 18, 1969, President Marcos and the AFP launched Project Merdeka (also known as “Jabidah”) and sent nearly 200 young Moro Tausugs from Sulu on an all-expense paid vacation to Sabah, Malaysia, to a 5-star hotel that had extremely fast wifi. Marcos claimed that many of the young Moros never returned to their old homes, because they liked Sabah so much.
